What are Member Out-of-Pocket Costs?

When members like the Daltons have questions about costs, they are usually referring to “out-of-pocket” expenses. These are the expenses that members must pay during a calendar year to a provider for services and supplies. There are three types of out-pocket costs:

  1. Copayments
  2. Deductibles
  3. Coinsurance
